review: Gillete Venus Breeze

Sorry I've been gone for so long. I have gotten several new products since my last entry, so expect more reviews to come. I am just very preoccupied at the moment with my "real life", so forgive me.

The best way to start this is to let you know that I've been using the Gillete Venus Embrace for a few months now and it wasn't until using the Gillete Venus Breeze that I felt compelled to write a review of both. That being said, I <3 my Venus Breeze! Granted, I only started using it 2 days ago and thus far have only shaved my underarms, but it matters not. I know a good thing when I try it. In addition to using the Venus Embrace I've also occasionally been using Schick Quattro for Women TrimStyle, but for the most part, that is another review for another day. My point being though, neither the Trimstyle or the Embrace even come close to matching the amazing smooth, flawless shave I got with the Breeze.I even actually had my boyfriend feel my underarm I was so impressed. He also agrees - silky smooth! My underarms have never felt like this after shaving or (believe it or not) even waxing. I'm sold :)

I also recently started using Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant, so they still feel pretty good even a couple days later. It's hard to know if that is thanks to the Breeze or the moisture in the Dove Visibly Smooth. I'll review the Dove Visibly Smooth in a few weeks, once I've had enough time to see how well it's working. Best I can tell though, so far, so good.

I should also add the best thing about the Gillete Venus Breeze is that there is no need for shave cream/ gel - the gel is already there! Just simply wet and shave!

I give this product 4 stars

Ms. M bares all

I thought the perfect way to start off this little 'project' of mine.. Confessions of a [Beauty] Consumer Whore.. would be to reveal the most private thing of all - myself! Anyone who knows me (friends, family, lovers, casual acquaintances) knows that I never leave the house without having my 'face' done. I usually even wear the basics (foundation, mascara, gloss) in the pool! What can I say? Vanity it is! I'm not ashamed - to look good, that is. I would much rather take the extra hour (or so) to primp and prime than to go out lookin frumpy, dumpy and just sad. Honesty, I wish more ladies would take a page from my book. I'm a critical character - you don't want to know what I'm thinking of you scaly skin, enlarged pores or that giant zit you need to pop - I promise. On the upside.. as long as all you brown baggers are out there, it gives a fat girl with a 'pretty face' like me a chance, so.. thanks ladies! :)

Today though.. as part of my 'grand reveal'.. I'm revealing myself to you - zits and all! If for no other reason to show that, just because you might not like what you see every time you look in the mirror, anyone can look "perfect" some of the time. All it takes is a little interest, effort, energy and knowledge. It's not as though I enjoy spending half of my evening (morning, afternoon, whatever) getting ready, but.. the end result is well worth it. Despite what may be popular opinion, I don't think I'm utterly shallow. One must take pride in their looks, as with all things in their life. My looks just happen to take priority. I like to step out for my day feeling secure and confident, knowing no matter what comes my way.. at least I look good while it happens.

In closing, what I'm really trying to say is.. in the words of Cindy Crawford,
"Not even I look like Cindy Crawford in the morning".
Nor do any of us, but in this life.. we gotta work with what we got. This is what I got.. and all I can do is try to make the best of it. Meanwhile.. I'd like to encourage you to (keep reading and) do the same.
